She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Elgin McClendon and Emma Elizabeth McClendon; her husband Arthur Marvin Saylor; her daughter Amy Elizabeth Blocker; and her son-in-law Bill Goins.
She is survived by: her children, Russell Saylor (Cindy), John Saylor (Stephanie) and JoAnne Goins; her brother Tommy McClendon (Linda); her grandchildren, Brad Saylor, Belinda, Emma Underwood (Mark), Amber Minor (Ryan), Sheena Blocker, Shawn, Haley Smith (Bennett), Davis Goins, Ellie Saylor Latta (Briggs), Crawford Saylor and Alex Parker; and her great grandchildren, Addison, Anna Beth, Ava of Millie, JJ, Greyson, Asher and Lillian.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel (1340 N Main St, Arab, AL 35016). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Ruth requested that memorial donations be made to The Bill Goins Foundation, Inc., which assists North Alabama cancer patients with basic needs and treatment-related expenses.
