He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Atkins and Julia Atkins; and his brother-in-law Howard Richardson. He is survived by: his wife Sue Carolyn Atkins; his children, Allen Atkins (Lisa) and Vicky Atkins Zylstra (Scott); his grandchildren, Daniel Atkins (Kristy), Lauren Atkins Dobson (Matt), Faith Atkins Williams (David), Jason Zylstra (Anna Claire) and Katherine Zylstra Strickland (Trey); his great grandchildren, Sadie Claire Atkins, Emma Kate Atkins, John Grady Atkins, Peter Williams, Zeke Williams, Hannah Williams, Oliver Dobson, Logan John Strickland, Addison Mae Strickland and Parker Arlen Strickland; and his sisters, Marylene Atkins Harrison (Newt) and Linda Atkins Richardson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends.
