She was predeceased by: her husband Sammy Nelson Lanier; her parents, Clifton R. Cody and Sallie Cora Cody; and her siblings, Jane Norman, Jo Ann Terry, Royce Ray, Marshall and Herber Cody.
She is survived by: her sons, Samuel Lanier (Sandra), Jeffery Lanier, Clifton Earl Lanier (Dorothy), Anthony Lanier, Ronnie Lanier (Velrie) and Donald Lanier (Sherrie); and her siblings, Ruby Keel (James), Joyce Slayton, Martha Pruitt, Ervin Cody (Deborah) and Rodger Cody (Carol). She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the New Hope Funeral Home (2500 Oak Grove Rd, New Hope, AL 35760).
