He is survived by: his wife Myrna; his son Steven Self; his sisters, Faye Hunter Payton, Kathy Salmon (Bobby) and Sherry Stiefel (Eugene); his grandchildren, Jeremy Self and Natalie Lupo (Paul); his great grandchildren, Aleigha Self, Jude Self, Malachi Self and Holden Self; his aunt Margie Self; and his sons, Bill, Tim Lind, Alex, Emme and Charlie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the New Hope Funeral Home (2500 Oak Grove Rd, New Hope, AL 35760). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the New Hope Funeral Home Chapel (2500 Oak Grove Rd, New Hope, AL 35760). A burial was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Hampton Cove Cemetery (Owens Cross Roads, AL 35763).
In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial donations to be made to American Heart Association.
