He was predeceased by: his parents, Raiford Hicks and Kathryn Hicks (Davidson); and his siblings, Barry Hicks and Ranette Robertson. He is survived by: his children, Laura Hicks Frye (Ken) and Christopher Ray Hicks (Chelsy); his sister Denise Kizziah (Zane); and his grandchildren, Drew Frye and Makenna Frye. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
