Charles Clarence Turner Obituary
Charles Clarence Turner, age 84, of Northport, Alabama died July 16, 2025, at DCH Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Harrison Turner and Flossie Camp (Turner) Peeks, his stepfather Albert Peeks, his nephew Alex Crotwell and by his ex-wife, Rita Turner Rimmer.
He is survived by his daughters Michelle Marchesse of Anderson, SC , Jena Seibert (Kurt) of Matthews, NC, Tina Cothran (Todd) of Pickens, SC and Susan Todd (Bryan) of Tryon, NC; granddaughters, Kennedie Dye (Eric) of Pickens, SC and Kacie McKnight (Calvin) of Easley, SC and great-granddaughters Guinevere and Arabella Dye.
In addition, he also leaves behind a son Charles Troy Turner and another daughter Belinda Eakin with several grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Also surviving are his brothers Larry Turner (Janice) of Tuscaloosa, AL and Richard (Ricky) Turner of Gulf Shores, AL; sisters Evelene Smelley (Frank) of Northport, AL and Lynette Crotwell (Bill) of Hoover, AL. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was a mechanic for over 40 years and owned and operated Turner’s Automotive and Turner’s Used Cars in Pendleton, SC. He loved cars; he not only worked on cars; he enjoyed going to car shows, watching NASCAR races and attending drag races. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved watching college football, especially Alabama (Roll Tide!); most of all he LOVED good food! He also had quite an infectious laugh and loved to joke around with people.
Many thanks are offered to his brothers and sisters, especially Larry and Lynette, for his care in recent years and to the Glen Haven nursing staff who took such good care of him over the last 3 years. A special thanks to Kerry Hyche, one of Dad’s favorite nurses, for all of her care.
The pallbearers were Charles’s nephews Tyler, Trey and Troy Turner, Alan Crotwell and great-nephews Harrison and Griffin Crotwell.
Visitation was on Friday, July 18 at 3:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Park in Northport , Alabama.
Funeral graveside services were held on Saturday, July 19 at 11:00 am at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Watermelon Rd., Northport AL with burial to follow.
