He is survived by: his siblings, Betty and Joe Yerby; his wife Mary Elizabeth Aycock Yerby; his daughters, Katherine Elizabeth Appleby (Manly) and Lea Georgette Yerby; his grandchildren, Stephen Appleby (Regan), Daniel Appleby (Elizabeth), Andrew Appleby (Melissa), Hannah Appleby (Joseph), Benjamin Appleby (Lily), David Appleby (Rachel) and Aaron Appleby; his great grandchildren, Alli Appleby, Eli Randolph, Naomi Randolph, Miriam Appleby, Aria Appleby, Samuel Appleby, Riley Appleby, Luke Appleby, Evangeline Appleby, Max Leon Appleby and Diana Susan Appleby; and his child-in-law Manly.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Nelson Funeral Home Chapel (3659 AL-171, Fayette, AL 35555). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you spend time with Waylon, Willie, and the Boys and have a little talk with Jesus.
