He was predeceased by: his son Mark A. Smith; his parents, L. V. Smith and Beulah Smith; and his sister Marie Hallman. He is survived by: his wife Wanda L. Smith "June"; his children, Gina Smith Treadway (Randy) and Steven Elmer Smith (Melony); his siblings, Betty Jean Hannah (Walter "Suds"), L. B. Smith (Jeanette) and James A. Smith "Pig" (Judy); his grandchildren, Leighann Driver (Gunter), Chris Driver, Tori Flippo (Sam), Alex Treadway and Josh Golson (Angela); and his great grandchildren, Lainey Golson and Saylor Flippo.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Phillips Chapel Cemetery (19658 Mormon Rd, Northport, AL 35475).
