He was predeceased by : his wife Marie Swiney; his parents, Albert Swiney and Ethel Nelson Swiney; and his siblings, Burton, Billy, Sam, Bobby Swiney, Elisabeth, Edna, Faye, Evelyn and Molly.

He is survived by : his sons, Larry Swiney (Wanda) and Neal Swiney (Teresa); his siblings, June Hannah, Clearance, Robert Earl and J. B. Swiney; and his grandchildren, Jeremy Swiney, Shannon Swiney (Lindsey), Leah Minchew (Sam) and Stacey Golden (Paul). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
