James leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. James’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew James will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Thomas and Faye C. Thomas; and his wife Sharon P. Thomas. He is survived by: his children, Melissa T. Holmes (Scott) and Jay Thomas (Amanda); his grandchildren, Clay Holmes, Collin Thomas, Corbin Thomas and Cannon Thomas; and his sister J. Elyse Thomas.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to Hospice of West Alabama, an organization that provided invaluable support and care.
