With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Maurice Phelps of Northport, Alabama, who passed away on February 12, 2023 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Alfonso Phelps and Annie Myrtle Phelps; his siblings, Barbara Watts, Ralph Phelps and Cline Allen Phelps; and his son James Phelps.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Phelps; his daughter Alicia Phelps; his stepdaughter Linda Keasler (Bob Colburn); his son John Phelps II (Miranda); his stepson Mike Quilliams (Karen); his grandchildren, John Phelps III, Brynn Phelps, Jonah Phelps and Graydon Phelps; his stepgrandchildren, Mira Davis (Parker), Cherish Spencer (Jacob), Kristen Quilliams and Dylan Quilliams (Dianna); and his great grandchildren, Alina Davis, Adalynn Davis, Jase Quilliams and Braxton Spurrell.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Childrens Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham or The Food Bank of West Alabama.
