He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen John Durel, Sr. and Mary Dell Causey Jeffries; his stepfather A. J. Jeffries; and his brother HIllard "Bo" Bonds. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Cox Durel; his children, Dina Lyn Durel and Clay Arnold (Katey); his brothers-in-law, Keith Cox, Mike Cox (Amy) and David Cox (Ginny); his great-nephew Clayton Cox; his niece Grace Whitten (Bron); and his nephews, Wes Cox (Sara), Steven Cox (Melissa) and Brian Cox. He is also survived by other nieces and numerous cousins.
