He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Knight; his son Edward "Eddie" Knight, Jr.; his brothers, Floyd M. Knight and Roger A. Knight; his parents, A. Z. Knight and Inez McDonald Knight; his mother-in-law Salome Newhouse; and his grandparents, Choen, Erin McDonald, Thomas Floyd and Lena Knight.
He is survived by: his son Jimmy Knight; his brother Dewey Knight (Brenda); and his sibling's children, Shelia Knight Ricketts (Joe), Loraine Salhany (Paul), Delene Conway (Terry), Heather Knight, Shevone Sailer (Brian), Dwayne Knight (Gina) and Mark Knight (Dawn).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home (1591 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
