We announce the death of Debbie Short (Oneonta, Alabama), who passed away on October 21, 2026, at the age of 70. Debbie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Shoppell and Sally Shoppell; and her son Kristofer Robinson. She is survived by: her husband George Allen Short; her children, Kelli Rank (Kyle), Ben Short (Amanda) and Dustin Short (Erica); her grandchildren, Stella Short, Kristofer Rank, Eloise Short, Kristofer Short, Charlie Short and Beckham Short; and her siblings, Margaret, Alan and Jay. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lemley Funeral Chapel (6878 2nd Ave W, Oneonta, AL 35121). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama in Debbie's honor.
