He was predeceased by: his wife Gale LaRue; and his parents, Herschel LaRue and Lillian LaRue. He is survived by: his son-in-law Tim Battles; his siblings, Alton, Jimmy, Ronnie, Gerald LaRue, Daphine Nash and Brenda O'Steen; his daughter Tracy Melcher (Gary); his grandchildren, Heather Battles and Kyle Battles (Harlie); his great grandchild Kaydence Battles; his brother Fred LaRue; and his caregivers, Taylor Hegenheiser and Payson Hegenheiser.
A graveside service was held on Friday, May 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Bethel Cemetery (87927 US-278, Snead, AL 35952).
