He was predeceased by: his parents, Fletcher B. Merritt and Shirley Fay Merritt (Sanders); his wife Mary Darlene Merritt; and his sister Kim Chumley. He is survived by: his children, Mark Timothy Merritt, II and Monica; his son-in-law Daniel Skillman; his daughter Heather Noel; his son-in-law Michael Brooks; his grandchildren, Abbigail Grace Skillman, Breanna Hope Skillman, Olivia Mae Brooks, Daniel Zachary Skillman, Mikayla Anne Merritt and Hailee Michelle Brooks; his siblings, Gina Coutch and Scott; his sister-in-law Crystal Merritt; his brother Jeff Merritt; his daughter Tristan; and his son-in-law Ron Lemons.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Snead Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
