Rayburn Oliver touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by : his wife Brenda James; his parents, Oliver James and Myrtle James; his grandson Richard Gargus; his sisters, Obera Mosley, Othera Thornton, Betty Robinson, Freda Swann and Ruth Hogue; and his son-in-law Stephen Hudson.

He is survived by : his children, Sheila Gargus (Tim), Janet Hudson and Phillip James (Terri); his grandchildren, Josh Gargus, Zac Gargus, Erin James, Brandon James, Kaitlyn Chamblee, Hannah Waldrop, Jonathon Hudson and Ragan Hudson; his great grandchildren, Brooks, Grayson and JJ; and his sisters, Lou Thomas, Joyce Ragsdale and Shirley Baker.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lemley Funeral Chapel (6878 2nd Ave W, Oneonta, AL 35121). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
