Drayton Henderson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Drayton Henderson (Opelika, Alabama), who passed away on November 19, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Drayton may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Drayton touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard S. Henderson and Nila Gunter Henderson; and his brothers, Jerry Wayne and Marvin Henderson. He is survived by: his wife Nellie Owens Albright Henderson.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home (1500 Frederick Rd, Opelika, AL 36801). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Food Bank of East Alabama or the Lee County Humane Society.
