Early C. McKnight Jr. Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Early C. McKnight Jr. of Opelika, Alabama, who passed away on June 30, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Early C. McKnight, Sr. and Julia High McKnight; and his cousin Christine Maaytah. He is survived by: his son Early McKnight, III (Wanda) of Murfreesboro, TN; his grandsons, Carson McKnight (Kelsey) of Murfreesboro, TN and Hunter McKnight of Portland, OR; his great grandchildren, Amelia and Oliver McKnight; his brother-in-law Alton Dennis Whittemore, Jr. (Martha); his niece Patta Wolford (Greg); his great-niece Marguerite Wolford-Kaatz (Ethan); his nephew Alexander Wolford; his cousins, Rev. Bill Brazell (Bev) and Beverly Voyles; and his close friends, Elva Myers, Jimmy Floyd, Wallace Sims, Vernon Smith and Mary Hamilton.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Shawmut Methodist Church (2301 31st St, Valley, AL 36854). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
