He was predeceased by: his daughter Felicia Smith; his grandson Jonathan Tanner; and his sibling's children, Barry Tommy Freeman, Sr. and Daisy May Bussey. He is survived by: his close friend Tom; and his parents, Freeman Roscoe Akins, Sr. and Sarah Malinda Thompson Akins. He is also survived by one son; one son-in-law; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
