He was predeceased by: his father Scottie Spates. He is survived by: his wife Claudia; his daughters, Abigail Lowery (Nic) and Brooke Scottie Spates; his mother Connie Weaver Spates; his sisters, Stacy Negley (Todd) and Shellie Gregory (Brad); his nephew Easton Gregory; his niece Elle Palin Gregory; and his sister-in-law Paola Curtis (Charles). He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Providence Baptist Church (2807 Lee County Rd 166, Opelika, AL 36804). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
