Rita touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Rivas and Mary Rivas; and her brother Thomas Rivas. She is survived by: her husband W. E. Chandler (Gene) of Auburn, AL; her children, Linda Lott (Chuck) of Advance, NC and Tom Chandler (Robin) of Birmingham, AL; her grandchildren, Kathryn Chastain (Aaron), Tyler Chandler (Kayla), Hannah Lott and Tripp Lott (Elizabeth); and her great grandchildren, Annie, Jacob, Sophie, Nora, Thomas Chastain, Lillian, Chloe and William Chandler.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Frederick-Dean Funeral Home & Crematory (1801 Frederick Rd, Opelika, AL 36801). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Dean Funeral Home Chapel (1801 Frederick Rd, Opelika, AL 36801).
