He was predeceased by: his mother C. H. Poe; and his brother Dennis Poe. He is survived by: his wife Donita; his children, Pennie Spates (Mike) and John Mark Poe (Christine); his grandson Michael Poe; his sister Carolyn Thrower (Richard); and his siblings-in-law, Houston Ennis (Dianna) and Susan Poe. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Providence Baptist Church- West Campus (2807 Lee County Rd 166, Opelika, AL 36804). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Providence Baptist Church Building Fund at 2806 Lee Rd. 166, Opelika, AL 36804.
