He was predeceased by: his wife Judy Matthews Prater; his sister Sandra Prater Phillips; and his father George Gaston Prater. He is survived by: his daughter Allyson Prater Collins; his son-in-law Brett; his son Scott Prater (Wendy); his grandchildren, Caleb Brett Collins, Lydia Rayne Collins and Mack Prater; his mother Frances Prater; his sisters, Annette Prater and Donna Prater Youmans; and his sister-in-law Vivian Hargrove.
