He was predeceased by: his parents, John Alex and Lillie Annie Ammons Tidwell; his wife Mary Yohn Tidwell; his daughter Wendy Tidwell Hanson; and his siblings, Vera Crawley, Era Leighton, William Tidwell, Ernest Tidwell, Oscar Tidwell and James Tidwell.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Troutman of Hilo, HI and Johnny Tidwell (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Tenisha Tuncer (Turgay) of Atlanta, GA, Tasha Cantrell (David), Dusty Tidwell (Lucenda), Tim Brown of Las Vegas, NV, Tommy Brown (Karey) of Hilo, HI, Eric Troutman of Hilo, HI and Brandi Bright (Tyler) of Hilo, HI; and his sister-in-law Louise Gamble. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
