He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertie Mae Johnson Carnley and J. C. Carnley; his brother James L. Carnley (Betty); and his brother-in-law Henry Wilkes. He is survived by: his spouse Brunice Bonner Patterson Carnley; his sons, David Carnley (Kathy) and Kent Carnley (Carol); his stepchildren, Cindy Messick (Tim), George "Chuck" Patterson (Carrie) and Judson Patterson (Renee); his sisters, Katie Wilkes and Ann Grimes (Saul); and his grandchildren, David Carnley (Meghan Shannon), Matthew Carnley, Joshua Carnley, Jason Carnley (Ashlea), Christine Carnley Porter (Jim), Emily Carnley Conner, Elizabeth Carnley Fast (Russell), Anna Carnley, Jon Wesley Colquett (Leighann), Kyle Colquett (Toyia), Ingrid Patterson Pickron (Adam), George Patterson III (Courtney), Neal Patterson (Anna), Charlotte Patterson Dawson (Vincent), David Carnley, Jr. and Emily Conner. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
