He was predeceased by: his wife Patsy Wallace Cotter; his daughter Patti Lynn Cotter; his parents, Audra Hortense Brown Cotter and Willie Foster Cotter; and his siblings, Bonnie Deal, Mary Tom Harrelson, Betty Cotter, Ouida Cotter, Brad Cotter, Cecil Cotter, Keith Cotter and James Cotter.
He is survived by: his sons, Eddie Cotter (Mary Jo), Mike Cotter (Melanie) and Jonathan Cotter (Sarah); his grandchildren, Jara (April), Amber, Melia (Matthew), Audra Loren and Jonah; his great grandchild Tenleigh; his stepgrandsons, Austin and Cole; and his sisters-in-law, Joann Hattaway and Pat Wallace.
