He was predeceased by: his wife Dolly Owens; his son Billy G. Carnley; his daughter-in-law Oki Carnley; his siblings, Jess Owens, Hayes Owens, Wilburn Owens, Edlow Owens, Dan Owens, Gladys Maddox, Ola Grissett, Leanna Gray, Minnie Owens, Mollie Mason and Bessie Qualls; and his parents, Sam Owens and Anna Rushing Owens.
He is survived by: his son Larry Carnley (Ruthie); and his grandchildren, Gail Hayes (Harrison), Melissa Pierce (Terry), Samantha Russell (Wayne), Chandra Holet, Rusty Adams (Wendy) and Tracy Mixon (Chase). He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
