He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey Napolean Matthews, Sr. and Addie Ruth Laster-Matthews; and his sister Nora Matthews. He is survived by: his siblings, Carolyn McCray, Ruthie M. Boykin and Dexter Matthews; and his sisters-in-law, Twinetta Carrol-Matthews and Alice Faniel-Matthews. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
