He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas Hagler and Mary Frances Mitchell; his wife Estelle Hartzog Danner Hagler; his sons, Derrel Wilson Hagler and Anthony Dewitt Hagler; and his siblings, Joseph Carl Hagler, Tom Hagler, Leon Hagler, Lucille Jernigan, Betty Lou Arrington, Essie Mae Watson, Ruby Hagler, John Thomas Hagler, Jr. and Gertrude Greathouse.
He is survived by: his children, Marilyn, Grover Keith Hagler and Thomas Andrew Hagler. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
