He was predeceased by: his parents, Derald Bowman Shell and Elizabeth Spacholtz Shell; and his sister-in-law Jane Haymon Shell. He is survived by: his siblings, George Shell (Linda), Terry Shell, Dorothy Patrick (Douglas), Michael Shell, Owens Crossroads, Debra Shiver (Edwin), David Shell (Rosalinda), Richard Shell and Linda Tew (Joel). He is also survived by nineteen nieces and nephews, twenty six great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece.
