He was predeceased by: his parents, Bud Blackston and Lois Handley Blackston; and his adoptive father James (Vera Gant). He is survived by: his wife Shirley Busby Blackston; his brother Lynnse Blackston; his children, Kathy Gurganus (Wayne), Kenny Blackston (Stephanie) and Russell Blackston (Stephanie); and his grandchildren, Laci, Sawyer, Caleb, Garrett, Dillon, Dalton and Andrew.
