She is survived by: her daughters, Joyce "Joy" Strong and Lela Vaughn (Mike); her grandchildren, Adam Vaughn, Andrew Vaughn, Jeboa Strong and Jenna Strong; and her great grandchildren, Zaelyn Vaughn and Tatum Vaughn.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Kingwood Church Missions Fund in Alabaster, Alabama, in honor of Genetta's lifelong devotion to her faith and service to others.
