It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gordon Thompson (Pelham, Alabama), who passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Jackie Sue; his parents, Judge Murphy Thompson and Mattie Mae Thompson; his siblings, Loumania Ferguson and Florine Roberts (Frank); and his son-in-law Rick Patterson.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Patterson and Jerry Thompson (Sherry); his sister Mary Terry (Doanld); his grandchildren, Jason Cargile, Kristy Kelley (Chris), Stacy Shelton (Chris), Jamie Jones (Jim) and Ryan Thompson; and his great grandchildren, Logan Kelley, Colton Kelley, Miles Kelley, Scottie James Shelton, Tate Shelton and Colbie Shelton.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 9:15 AM to 10:00 AM at the Southern Heritage Funeral Home (475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham, AL 35124). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Alabama National Cemetery (3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Pelham Church designated to Future Chapters.
