He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Benton Alvis and Clara Wallace Alvis. He is survived by: his wife Judge Lara McCauley Alvis; his children, Kyle Benton Alvis (Carrie Robinson Alvis), Ashley Alvis Lathan (Drew Lathan), Maggie Linn Alvis and Barrett Edward Alvis; his grandsons, Wallace Embry Alvis and Bentley Gray Alvis; and his sister Susan Morris (Henry Morris). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
