He was predeceased by: his wife Emma Jean Godbee; and his brother R. A. "Sonny" Compton. He is survived by: his children, Brenda Martin (Donny) and Jimmy Compton (Lynda); his grandchildren, Daniel Compton (Rachel) and Kayla Dawley (Owen); and his great grandchildren, Lakeleigh Jean "LJ" Dawley, Rynleigh Dawley and Theodore "Theo" James Compton.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Usrey Funeral Home - Pell City (21271 US-231, Pell City, AL 35125). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
