He was predeceased by: his parents, John L Simpson and Lillie Bell Simpson; and his brothers, Melvin and O'Neil Simpson. He is survived by: his wife Shelia C. Simpson of Perdido, Alabama; his children, Ricky Simpson (Dorrie) of Loxley, Cooper Simpson (Marisa) of Perdido, Alabama and Alisa Simpson Gray (Dwayne) of Bay Minette, Alabama; his siblings, James L. Simpson of Bay Minette, Alabama and Carolyn Corley (Eric) of Gautier, Mississippi; and his grandchildren, Sorcha Blake (Trevor), Jeremy Simpson (Megan), Emma-Claire Simpson, Kevin Dunlap (Nicole) and Benjie Dunlap (Savannah). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
