It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Douglas Earl Stokes of Phenix City, Alabama, born in Greenville, North Carolina, who passed away on September 7, 2023, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elwood Earl Stokes and Polly Frances Fleming Stokes; and his wife Dianne Hubbard Stokes. He is survived by: his children, Stephen Stokes of Phenix City, AL, Stephanie Stokes of Phenix City, AL and Crystal McDonald (Justin) of Lockridge, IA; his sister Deborah Pienkowski (John) of Auburndale, FL; his grandchildren, Caleb Stokes and Korbyn Hamilton; his niece Kimberly Calton (Matt); his great-nieces, Katie and Elizabeth; his nephew Michael Pienkowski (Jennifer); his great-niece Autumn; and his great-nephew Benjamin. He is also survived by extended family, friends and all of his brothers and sisters.
