With sadness, we share the passing of Ella L Gilley of Phenix City, Alabama. Ella, born on May 31, 1937, passed away on September 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Cook and Mattie Cook (Rampey); her husband Howard Gilley Jr.; her children, Billy Joe Gilley, Ronald Junior Gilley and Shirley Jean Dean; and her siblings, Jimmy Cook, James Cook, Eugene Cook, Geraldine Fieber, Elouise Gilley and Deborah Hopkinson.
She is survived by: her children, Darlene Gilley Spears (Daniel) of Phenix City, Alabama, Timothy Allen Gilley (Diane) of Bradenton, Florida and Terry Wayne Gilley (Nicole) of North Port, Florida; and her siblings, Bobby Cook, Erman Cook, Johnny Cook, Sam Cook, Freddie Cook and Mary Evelyn Hall. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Skyway Mausoleum Chapel (5200 US-19, Palmetto, FL 34221). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
