He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Smith and Joy Glass Smith; and his wife Carol Lynn Feathers Smith. He is survived by: his children, Stacy Smith Peeler (Curtis) and Clifford Smith; his sisters, Holly Wolfe (David), Sherri Sheffield (Wayne) and Tricia Mahan (Jim); and his grandchildren, Carly Smith and Christopher Peeler.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the youth ministry at Chattahoochee Valley Church of Christ in Columbus, GA.
