He is survived by: his wife Katie; his children, Ericka Sanderson (Nathaniel III), Tracy Mitchell, Thomas Smith Jr. (Brina) and Edward Banks (Tamara); his siblings, Jewel Harris (Ernest), Betty and Joann Hunter; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Smith, Lucy Harris (Tommie), Annie Cliatt (Edward), Willie Jackson (Mary) and Griffen Jackson (Freda). He is also survived by Thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
