Fay Genell Locklear Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 7, 2025, at the age of 81, Fay Genell Locklear of Piedmont, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Fay may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Fay touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Billy Dean Locklear; her parents, Clayton Gowens and Annie Faye Gowens; and her brother Rev. Douglas Gowens. She is survived by: her daughter Lori Traffanstedt (Tony) of Piedmont; her granddaughter Bre Traffanstedt of Piedmont; her brothers, Rev. Kenneth Gowens (Trudy) of Piedmont and Lonnie Gowens of Piedmont; and her sister-in-law Shirley Gowens. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home & Crematory (6340 Old Piedmont Gadsden Hwy, Piedmont, AL 36272). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
