He is survived by: his children, Heather McGatha (David) of Piedmont and Brandon Shell (Cristin) of Hokes Bluff; his grandchildren, Hannah Steed, Hayley McGatha, Ethan McGatha, Laycie Shell, Draiden Shell, Alliyah Shell, Sutton Shell and Vayda Shell; his great grandchildren, Lilah Wolf, Ayla Cosby, Kristian McGatha and Walker Gaddy; his sister Charlotte Barnwell of Piedmont; and his wife Rhonda Whorton Shell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
