He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Boyd and Marvolene Sellars; his brother Kenneth "Pee Wee" Hannah; his son Tommy Bairentine; his wife Elizabeth Boyd; and his stepmother Irene Boyd.

He is survived by: his girlfriend Patti Sturdivant; his siblings, Pattie Holt and Gerald Boyd; his former wife Kathy Shelton Boyd; his stepfather John Sellars; and his children, Tammy (Dewey Skidmore), Jennifer of Grantville, GA, Timothy "Bo" Boyd (Nickie Nash) and Tiffany (Matt Royster). He is also survived by 16 grandkids, 4 great-grandkids, and one grandkid.
