It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Windell Rice of Pisgah, Alabama, who passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Lincoln and Ola Pearl Overton Rice; his children, Rickey Stephens, Tommye Sue Eakins and Archie Rice; his grandchildren, Vanessa Stewart and Cody Rice; and his siblings, Eunice Brewster, Inez Wheeler, Pam Davis, Thomas Orum Rice, Jean Bastin, James Rice, Winifred Brown and Frankie Lee Rice.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Rice; his children, Toni Wheeler, Tony Rice (Wendy), Mike Stephens (Jan), Guy Rice (Phyllis) and David Stephens; and his grandchildren, Joey Stewart, Aaron Rice (Huong), Amanda Cole (Greg), Samuel Arnold, James Arnold (Emily), Donyell Rice (Casey), Nathaniel Rice, Jared Rice, Shasta Rice, April Parnell (Collin), Amber Rice, Danielle Crain, Natalie Huxtable, Corey Wheeler Kayla Stephens (Brianna), Kaitlyn Phillips (Shauwn) and Brandon Stephens. He is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Corner Stone Funeral Chapel (40 Cornerstone Dr, Ider, AL 35981). A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
