He is survived by: his parents, Clayton Johnston and Joan Johnston; his wife Edie Stinnett Johnston; his daughters, Elizabeth Johnston and Kendell Johnston; his granddaughters, Alaina and Lorelai; and his sisters, Kay Gardner, Jean Hollingsworth and Margie Womble. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces, and many other relatives and friends.
