He was predeceased by : his mother Emily Munkachy. He is survived by : his father Louis Munkachy; his children, Alexander, Nicholas, Stephanie and Rebecca Munkachy; his grandchildren, Conor and Norah Munkachy; his wife Paula Munkachy; and his sister Zsuzsi.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Bernard's Abbey or to Catholic Charities to support the Church, which brought so much meaning to his life.
