She was predeceased by: her father John Norman; her stepfather Jim Haines; her brother John E. "Eddie" Norman; and her grandchild Jamie Russell. She is survived by: her mother Nancy Haines; her husband Lawrence Bates; her stepsisters, Joette Rushton, Ladonna Haines and Karla Salisbury; her stepsibling's children, Savannah Greenlee (MacGregor), Mattie Bates and Carter Bates; and her grandchildren, Louise, Francis Greenlee, Beau Gregory, Matthew Gregory, Melinda MeGahee, Alicia Cochran (Nash), Christina Maslow (Sophia) and Jaque Yang. She is also survived by several step children, honorary children.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sandy Ridge Methodist Church (6680 Montgomery Hwy, Letohatchee, AL 36047). A graveside service was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 at the same location.
