She was predeceased by: her mother Annie Mae Nelson; her husband Bobby J. Sims; her aunt Elizabeth Lawrence; and her grandmother L. D. "Mammy" Nelson. She is survived by: her son Kevin Sims (Patricia); and her grandson Alex Sims of Rainbow City, Alabama..
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Collier-Butler Funeral Home (824 Rainbow Dr, Gadsden, AL 35901).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Serving Kids Hope or the National Humane Society.
