He was predeceased by: his parents, L. D. Junkins and Grace Tedder Junkins; his siblings, Jimmy Junkins and Judy Spears; and his daughter Gina Atkins.
He is survived by: his wife Susie Smith Junkins; his children, Jason Junkins (Angela), Annie Junkins, Michelle Atkins (Shelby Cochran) and Amy Atkins (Jason Baird); his grandchildren, Chase West (Alyssa), Brianna Brown (Josh), Ben Junkins (Molly), Kara Junkins, Emma Junkins, Logan Junkins, Dylan Ward, Mason Atkins (Hannah), Caitlin Clem and Grace Standridge-Ward (Nicole); his siblings, Pam Junkins, Mike Junkins and Gina Otwell; his sister-in-law Leah Junkins; and his pet Buddy. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hokes Bluff Funeral Home (1901 Piedmont Cutoff, Gadsden, AL 35905). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gadsden Public Library.
